A luxurious renaissance style shoot inspired by the artist Gustav Klimt, with a palette of rich golds and blacks and combining the talent of artisans from across the globe.
When Rubana Gaspar, of Crimson Letters, got in touch to say she was creating a luxurious Gustav Klimt inspired bridal editorial and wanted to collaborate, I didn't waste any time saying YES. Klimt has always been one of my favourite artists and I adore the romanticism and complexity of his work, that combined with Rubana's hand painted artistry and portfolio of work, I knew it was going to be something extraordinary.
With an amazing team of artisans from around the globe and captured by fine art photographer Katie Julia, the results of her vision are nothing short of amazing.
Rubana says “I wanted to create a vision art voice within this industry and show that it’s possible to combine art and culture to shape a profound statement.”
“What inspired my editorial? Gustav Klimt & old world European, Renaissance design. Gustav Klimt is not a creative concept that I have seen used before and it aligned so well with the gold and moody signature style that I have come to be known for.”

“In an effort to ramp up the drama, I set to work to hand paint a two-metre high, black backdrop with brown branches and gold hand painted flowers with crunched up gold foil leaf centres” Rubana says.

Rubana was inspired to create, “Stationery that was much more than simple piece of paper, but brought together my desire for mood, depth and highly artistic renaissance design.”
